1. Agreement to these terms
By downloading, installing or using Settings Home, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not install or use the app, and uninstall it if you already have.
These terms form a binding agreement between you and us. They apply to the Android application, to this website, and to any feature, update or content we make available through them.
2. Who we are
Settings Home is an Android launcher. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" refer to Settings Home.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Settings Home, or older if the law where you live requires a higher age for consent to data processing. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the app only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
By using the app you confirm that you can form a binding contract with us and that you are not barred from using it under applicable law.
4. Your licence to use the app
Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Settings Home on Android devices that you own or control, for your own non-commercial use.
This licence does not transfer ownership. You may not:
- copy, modify, adapt, translate or create derivative works of the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law;
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the app, except to the extent permitted by mandatory law;
- rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense or distribute the app or access to it;
- remove, obscure or alter any proprietary notice, or circumvent integrity checks, licence checks or technical protection measures;
- use the app to build a competing product, or extract its assets for that purpose.
We may suspend or end this licence if you materially breach these terms. Section 16 explains what happens then.
5. Google Play terms
You obtain Settings Home through Google Play. Google's terms of service and Google Play's terms of use also apply to your download and to any purchase you make. In the event of a conflict between those terms and these terms regarding the app itself, these terms govern as between you and us; as between you and Google, Google's terms govern.
Google is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide support for the app. Google is, however, a third-party beneficiary of the licence terms above and may enforce them against you.
If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Google for a refund of the purchase price, where Google's policies allow it. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we have no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Settings Home to:
- break any law, regulation or third-party right, including intellectual property and privacy rights;
- harm, track, harass or impersonate another person;
- interfere with the app's operation, introduce malicious code, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or those of our providers;
- automate interactions with the app or its advertising in a way that is designed to generate fraudulent impressions, clicks or installs;
- use the app in a way that disables, overloads or impairs a network, device or service.
Fraudulent interaction with advertising is a material breach and may be reported to the relevant ad networks.
7. Your content
Notes, layouts, folders and other material you create in the app belong to you. Because they are stored locally on your device, we do not receive a copy and cannot recover them for you.
You are responsible for keeping your own backups. If you export a note to PDF and share it, you are responsible for where it goes and who can read it.
You grant us no licence to your content, because we do not host it. The only exception is content you voluntarily send us, such as a support email, which we use to answer you as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Third-party content and ads
Settings Home displays content and advertising supplied by third parties, including news stories, sports data, weather, wallpapers, search suggestions and ads. We do not create most of that content and do not endorse it. We are not responsible for third-party content, for the products or services it promotes, or for any transaction you enter into with a third party.
Ads are served by the networks listed in the Privacy Policy. Your interactions with an ad are between you and the advertiser. Links may take you outside the app; once you leave, the destination's own terms and privacy policy apply.
If you believe content in the app infringes your rights, contact us at [email protected] with details and supporting evidence, and we will review it.
9. Purchases and subscriptions
Settings Home is currently free to download and use, and is supported by advertising. There is no paid subscription available at this time.
If we introduce a paid feature or subscription in a future version, the price, billing period, renewal terms and cancellation rules will be shown in the app and on Google Play before you buy. Purchases are processed by Google Play, and Google's refund policy applies. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
We may change the price of a future subscription with the notice required by law and by Google Play policy; existing subscribers will be told before a change takes effect.
10. Device changes and permissions
Settings Home is a launcher. When you set it as your home app, it replaces your previous home screen and controls what appears when you press Home or swipe up. You can change your default launcher at any time in Android Settings.
With your permission, the app changes device settings such as brightness, volume, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth state, rotation and do-not-disturb. You are responsible for the settings you apply and for any effect they have on your device, your data plan or your use of other apps. For example, turning off mobile data will disconnect apps that rely on it.
Battery health, temperature, voltage and similar figures are reported by Android and by your device manufacturer. They may be missing, rounded or inaccurate on some devices. The app displays them as provided; they are not a diagnostic or repair service, and you should not rely on them for safety or warranty decisions.
You may deny any optional permission. Features that depend on it will not work, and the rest of the app will continue to function.
11. Intellectual property
The app, this website, and their design, code, text, graphics, icons and trademarks are owned by us or licensed to us, and are protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the licence in section 4, you receive no rights in them.
"Settings Home" and our logo are our trademarks. You may not use them without our prior written permission, except to refer factually to the app.
Android, Google Play and the Google Play logo are trademarks of Google LLC. Our use of them does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by Google.
Third-party content, including news articles, images and wallpapers, remains the property of its owners and is used under licence or applicable law.
12. Availability and changes
We may update, change or discontinue features at any time. Some behaviour is configured remotely, so the app may change without a store update. We aim to keep the core settings panel working on supported Android versions, but we do not guarantee that any particular feature will remain available.
We may stop supporting a version of Android, a device type or a region. Where we discontinue the app entirely, we will give reasonable notice in the app or on this site.
The app requires an internet connection for ads, news, weather, sports and remote configuration. We are not responsible for connectivity, carrier charges or store availability.
13. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Settings Home is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components, or that any content, including weather, scores, news or device health readings, will be accurate or complete.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or business opportunity, arising out of or relating to your use of the app, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the app or these terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) fifty US dollars (USD 50).
We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages, so parts of this section may not apply to you. In that case our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted.
15. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, losses and reasonable legal fees arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the app, or your infringement of a third party's rights. This does not apply to claims caused by our own negligence or wilful misconduct, and it does not apply to consumers to the extent such an obligation is unenforceable under applicable consumer law.
16. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. Uninstalling removes the app and its local data from your device.
We may suspend or terminate your licence if you materially breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the app. Where practical, we will give you notice and an opportunity to remedy the breach.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including sections 7, 11, 13, 14, 15 and 17 — continue to apply.
17. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Cayman Islands, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of the Cayman Islands have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these terms, except that:
- you may bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live if mandatory consumer law gives you that right;
- we may seek injunctive relief in any competent court to protect our intellectual property.
Before starting a formal claim, please write to [email protected] and give us 30 days to resolve the issue. Most problems can be fixed that way.
Nothing in these terms prevents you from using a mandatory consumer dispute resolution scheme available in your country.
18. General
Entire agreement. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us about the app, and replace any earlier agreement on the same subject.
Severability. If a provision is found unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions stay in force.
No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision, that is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
Assignment. You may not assign these terms. We may assign them to an affiliate or to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
Force majeure. We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
Changes. We may update these terms. The "Last updated" date shows the current version. If a change is material, we will notify you in the app or on this site before it takes effect. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the revised terms.
Language. These terms are written in English. If we provide a translation, the English version controls where the law allows.
